A New Leaf On The Reef?

A job has come up that has stirred up some interest in the media, a caretaker is wanted for the Great Barrier Reef. The chosen candidate will have paid flights and accomodation in Queensland, work 12 hours a week keeping the reef ticking over, and get paid £70,000 for the six-month vocation.

It's being called "The Best Job In The World" and, I must admit, it's caught my eye.

They're looking for somebody to do the job, whilst blogging, taking photos and making videos about the Great Barrier Reef to keep the rest of the world in the know...and even the application process is as unique as the job. Those who are up for the job have to submit a 60-second video showcasing, in an entertaining manner, why they would be great for the job.

I'm gonna do it! I'm gonna start writing a script for a video I've got in mind, shoot it and cross everything. Six months in the Barrier reef sounds like too good an opportunity to miss. Many, I am sure, have looked at the job and thought "aahh, forget it, everybody's going to apply for it". They're right, everybody will apply for it...but you've got to be in it to win it! Worst case scenario, I don't get the gig, but I've got a ha-ha-larious video I can post on my blog for all to see.

Wish me luck on this one, I think I might need it.
