12 Blogs Of Christmas: Blog 3

From the blog of Ebenezer Scrooge (TheRealScrooge@yahoo.co.uk)
Dated December 19th, 1843

Just got back from the council meeting. A tedious afternoon spent NOT MAKING A SINGLE PENNY waiting to speak to some goody-goody in a suit. We spent about an hour going back and forth looking at the fine print in the lease agreement and the business plan I proposed when I moved to the premises .

Bottom line is...I WON!! Nowhere in the contract I signed does is specifically say that I am PROHIBITED from opening on Christmas Day. Plus, because there are laws preventing other businesses from opening, nobody has looked into the legalities of how much I have to pay people to work on Christmas Day! No bloody time-and-a-half for Bob Cratchit then, the slacker!

So if you are in the South London area and wish to come in and chat about any outstanding debts or if you are a new businessman to the area, you don't have to be worried about that "closed for national holiday" malarky with me! See you at 9am on December 25th...Humbug!
